if i had a dollar for every time i read a fic where hes a narcissist id have as many dollars as fics ive read ... call me insane but i really dont think he is LUL i think he's accurate about how smart he is shrugs maybe people just aren't around engineers but he doesn't strike me as typical narcissistic engineer esp since those types tend to blow their knowledge out of proportion .5-17-2025

as is often the case with people who live in my head theyre people who r like me LUL so i see him as a man who is deeply obssessed with learning/ growing, which then alienates him from most of the people around him. he's eloquent and cares too much about "elegance" and little for people who don't align with him morality wise, so he's sometimes seen as self-obsessed to an untrained eye when in reality he's really just obsessed with the universe. eventually he gets to the point where he can wield his knowledge and then lasers in on a project. i dont particularly think its a grad school -> defines your whole life research thing just because i don't see him doing something for his PHD that he didn't want to do, but if someone wrote him like that id be like that's Really Funny and i could see it. after he gets rejected (which i assume is either like straw breaks the camels back or he genuinely gets rejected over & over even after resubmitting which seems more likely) he feels completely helpless & at the mercy of others, which gets in the way of him learning everything, so he grasps at a more childish/ regressive version of control because he's never had to emotionally regulate like this before.. i think it's extremely funny that he basically just turns kind of emo and everyone doesn't mention it then it Just So Happens that stone world happens right at the time he's most emo and he gets to playact his whole villian shtick. tldr someone get this guy grant funding stat and a scientific equal to tell him that helium mining isnt as efficient as fission fusion (although tbf he didnt get to see that happen cause what the whole stone thing was 2019 i think) but that like. i dunno. we can pick up some helium on the moon for fun as a treat. shrugs i could fix him .5-17-2025
